About Me

My photo
Steve Cobb
Massena , NY, United States
Steven C Cobb was born, raised, and has lived in the North Country all his life. He paints in oils and acrylics and creates works that deal with his admiration of nature and the outdoors. The nearby rivers and mountains of New York's Adirondack Park provide much of his inspiration. A passionate fly fisherman, his depictions of various trout are not only from his own creel, but from references graciously supplied to him from anglers around the world. With the onset of the pandemic, and moved by the bleakness of the times, he turned his attention to depicting the remains of old barns throughout the north country. The grayness of the weathered barn-wood led him to simplify his palette to black and white, concentrating strictly on value to capture mood. His foray into black and white continues into other subject matter, but is frequently interrupted with a more colorful palette. Steven C Cobb currently lives and works out of his Quiet Raquette Studio at 4 Woodland Drive, Raymondville NY. QuietRaquette.com
